| October 10, 2009 - We would like to thank Shihan Mike Monaco for welcoming us at the 19th edition of the American International Karate Championships. Kanreikai teams from Headquarters (Danbury, CT), Montreal and Joliette (QC, Canada) took part in the Championships which included kata events, jiu-jitsu, semi-knockdown fighting and knockdown fighting. A tri-combat competition involving knockdown, jiu-jitsu and kick boxing completed the program. |

All our Kanreikai competitors performed very well as they took part in kata, semi-knockdown, knockdown, jiu-jitsu and tri-combat events. Here are some great performances.

Lysandre Gagné (Jol): 1st in Kata; 1st in Weapon Kata
Michaël Cordeiro (Mtl): 2nd in Semi-knockdown (15-17 yrs old)
Mariusz Janicky (HQ): 1st in Knockdown (Lightweight) - his 3rd consecutive title
JIU-JITSU:
Xavier Beaufils (Jol): 1st with gi; 1st no gi; 2nd absolute
Cédric Blaquière (Jol): 1st no gi
Maxime Fecteau (Jol): 1st with gi; 3rd no gi; 2nd absolute
Jean-François Paradis (Jol): 1st with gi; 3rd no gi; 3rd absolute
