April 10, 2010 - Shihan Carl Tremblay of Jonquière Kanreikai Karate hosted the 2010 edition of the Défi/Challenge karate tournament. Several Kanreikai teams - Jonquière, Joliette, Montréal, Alma, Chambord - as well as participants from other karate organizations gathered in Jonquière.
Hanshi Manny Matias was presiding the tournament which consisted of a day competition followed by an evening Gala.

All our participating students and Senpai performed very well and made World Kanreikai Karate proud!
Michaël Cordeiro of Montreal Kanreikai Karate did especially well in his Knockdown fight - his second one in career. It was a one-on-one fight that consisted of three rounds of two minutes each. Michaël won all three rounds in a great show of technical skill, control and power.
Congratulations to Michaël and to all our Kanreikai participants for a great tournament!
We also thank Shihan Carl, Sensei Sylvie Dassylva and their team of volunteers for organizing the tournament and welcoming us in Jonquière! Osu!
