Great Performance of World Kanreikai Karate at the United States Kyokushin Open 2010 in Newry, ME
May 15, 2010 - We would like to thank Shihan Marty Petrovich of Maine Kyokushin Karate for welcoming our Kanreikai team at the 2010 United States Kyokushin Open in Newry, ME.

Hanshi Manny Matias and Sensei Denis Cordeiro travelled to Maine to support and coach Sensei Mariusz Janicki, Senpai Mike Rudinskiy - who are both training at World Kanreikai Headquarters - and Senpai Michaël Cordeiro of Montreal Kanreikai Karate.

News WKK - United States Kyokushin Open 2010 - Maine

During this Championship, Sensei Mariusz Janicki earned his third title as Lightweight Knockdown Champion in less than eight months. Indeed, since October 2009, Sensei Mariusz has won three Championship titles from three renowned Contact Karate Organizations; the IFK Championship in Rochester (NY) in October 2009; the IKO Matsushima Championship also in Rochester (NY) in December 2009; and the Royama Kyokushin Championship in Newry (ME) last weekend.

Once again, Sensei Mariusz proved that he is one of the most dominant fighters in his weight division as he took only 30 seconds to knock out his opponent and win the title.

As for Senpai Mike Rudinskiy, he started the day by taking the third place in the Black Belt Kata division. Then, in his first ever knockdown fight, he completely dominated his opponent to finally knock him out with a splendid roundhouse kick to the head. Unfortunately, Mike had to forfeit the fight for first place because of an injury. Hence, he took an impressive and well deserved second place in the lightweight division.

Finally, at 180 lbs, 17 years old Senpai Michaël Cordeiro fought in the open adult division which ranged from 180 to 265 lbs. Senpai Michaël displayed once more his talent and power with three KOs in three fights, ending up on the highest step of the podium.

Needless to say that Hanshi Manny and Sensei Denis were very proud of their three fighters!

Congratulations to Sensei Mariusz, Senpai Mike and Senpai Michaël for a well fought Championship!!
