Go Beyond Your Limits

Hard training and lots of fun at World Kanreikai Summer Camp 2010, Jiminy Peak, MA
July 8 to 11, 2010 - Again this year, Hanshi Manny Matias led three full days of karate training at the World Kanreikai Summer Camp 2010 in Jiminy Peak. Several Shihan, Sensei, Senpai and students from various American and Canadian Kanreikai schools took part in this annual training camp.

News - World Kanreikai Summer Camp 2010 - Jiminy Peak, MA
All those who made it to the camp were happy to breath in some fresh mountain air after several days of steaming hot weather in both the US Northeast and Canada Southeast.

Yet, training was challenging as usual, with three sessions a day. First, a hike up the mountain at 6am; then, a 2-hour karate training on the lawn at 10am followed by another 2-hour outside training session at 3pm.

Hanshi Manny made sure that everyone, from beginner to black belt, would benefit from those trainings which covered basic techniques, kata, weapon kata and fighting techniques.

Fortunately, between trainings, there was still time for some rest and lots of fun!

Every year, summer camp is the perfect occasion for Kanreikai members from different schools to meet, develop new friendships and experience World Kanreikai Karate spirit: Work hard together and go beyond your limits!

This year was no exception and all participants left Jiminy Peak on Sunday with tired legs and arms, maybe even a few bruises or blisters,  but most importantly, with lots of great karate memories!

Many thanks to Suzan Paquin of Danbury, CT for all the great photographs!
