April 30, 2011 - Sensei Denis Cordeiro of Montreal Kanreikai Karate welcomed nearly 250 competitors at the YUKAN Karate Championship 2011.
Again this year, Hanshi Manny Matias presided over this 11th Karate Championship organized by Sensei Denis.
The tournament was a great success. Competitors of all ages and belt rank offered great performances.

Sensei Bob Underhill, Sensei Gary London and Senpai Mori Ichikawa of World Kanreikai Headquarters were also present. They did a superb job as judges during the competition. Suzanne Paquin also traveled to Montreal and took numerous photographs of the Championship.
Participants from Montreal, several Quebec regions, Danbury, CT and Ravena, NY took part in the competition featuring kata, weapon kata and semi-knockdown fighting events.
William Lugo Commons, John Billstone and Mito Ichikawa, who represented World Kanreikai HQ, showed great skills and determination! They respectively took the 1st, 1st and 3rd place in their semi-knockdown divisions. Congratulations William, John and Mito!
