Eight members of Montreal, Joliette, Dawson Creek and NYC Kanreikai schools took the test:
- Senpai Kateri Guertin for 2ndDan Black Belt;
- Audrey-Rose Charlebois, Ken Dahr, Michael Moralejos, Brigitte Poirier and Danny for 1st Dan Black Belt;
- Xavier B. for Junior Black Belt;
- Nicky dC. for Junior Black Tip.
Sensei Calvin Ortiz of Ravena Kanreikai dojo (NY) led the first part of the test that included basic techniques, sequences, kata forms and weapon kata. Then, Shihan David Sheeger of NYC Kanreikai dojo orchestrated an uninterrupted series of fights during which the participants went against Black Belt karatekas who challenged their physical and mental strenght.
Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and commitment to always improve themselves in the spirit of World Kanreikai Karate.
Special thanks to Sensei Bob and his team who hosted the World Kanreikai Annual Picnic Party that took place after the test. Everyone had a fun time, enjoying great food in excellent company!
